Our approach

We approach our roast not with a preconceived idea of whether the coffee should be meant for pour-over or espresso, but with the intention of presenting a cup of coffee that is well-balanced in terms of sweetness and clarity.

 

There should be clarity in the flavours, while remaining soluble enough to be brewed across different methods. This approach has led to many delightful discoveries and experiences shared between myself, guests in our coffeehouse, and home brewers like you.

About us

KěrYǐ is born from our names, Ker and Yi. In Mandarin, it sounds like kě yǐ (可以), which means “can” or “doable.” This simple phrase sits at the core of what we do. It reflects our belief in showing up with passion, pursuing what we love, and turning challenges into milestones through grit and heart.

As an owner operated coffeehouse, we roast our coffee in small batches and find joy in sharing coffees that are balanced and approachable. We are also proud of our homely, comforting in-house bakes.

 

We put the same thought into the space itself. We wanted it to feel comfortable and easy to be in — a place for conversations, focused work, reading, or simply taking a breather. Nothing showy or complicated. Just a cozy, welcoming space built for people to feel at ease.

 

Approachability matters to us. Coffee can be complex, but enjoying it shouldn’t be. You do not need to know every detail to appreciate what’s in your cup. We are here to share, to guide when asked, and to offer a friendly experience every time you visit.
